Physical Sensations Associated with Anxiety
Anxiety often manifests itself in physical sensations which vary from person to person and may range from mild to severe. Below is a list of common physical manifestations of Anxiety. Note any that you may encounter as an indicator that you are experiencing anxiety (either acute or chronic).
- Abdominal Pain
 - Diarrhea/ Constipation
 - Appetite Reduction
 - Nausea
 - Urge to urinate more frequently
 - Vomiting
 - “Butterflies” in stomach
 - Shortness of breath
 - Rapid breathing
 - Choking Feeling
 - Chills
 - Flushes (Feeling Hot) or Blushing
 - Excessive Sweating (Not due to heat)
 - Palpitations (Heart pounding or fluttering)
 - Rapid Heart Beat
 - Back/Neck Pain

 - Muscle Tension in the back, neck or shoulders
